Experience

I am a Psychotherapist and Counsellor, registered with UKCP (UK Council for Psychotherapy) and BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy).

I am qualified to work with individual adults (over 18s), offering once weekly counselling and psychotherapy usually on an open ended basis although a pre fixed period of work can be agreed.

I am experienced in working with people who have difficulties with :

Anxiety or, worry
Too frequent periods of low mood or, depression.
Loneliness
Concerns about self esteem, feeling awkward/ avoiding social situations, lack of self fulfilment
Difficulties with relationships at home and work, socially and intimately
Family break ups
Bereavement
Childhood trauma -neglect, abuse, separation.
Wanting to become more self aware.

In addition to my private practice, I have worked as a counsellor in the charity sector, with WPF therapy and Sutton Counselling, where I was also employed on the assessment team.

I began training as a therapist in 2004 having been employed in various roles in the charity and public sector supporting parents and carers of children with learning difficulties and physical disabilities.I have also worked on a voluntary basis with autistic and disabled children and young adults.

I recognise the strain which caring can bring to a family and the issues which can affect parents/partners/young adults and children.

I work from a small suite of rooms with other counsellors and psychotherapists. We are located in a quiet, gated pedestrian mews off Borough High Street. London Bridge underground station is in very close proximity and Southwark underground is a short 10 minutes walk away. Waterloo slightly further, can be reached on foot in 20 minutes.
